diy: love squared snood

I’ve been gone a long, long, time and I’m so happy to be back!  Life was pretty crazy the last few months and thankfully mostly for good reasons which meant that I just couldn’t sit my butt down long enough to write a proper post.  Oh, how I missed this and I’m hoping you’ll come back with me.   I’ve come up with a pattern for an easy snood that can be knit up pretty quickly and it’s a perfect Valentine’s Day gift for that someone special in your life whether it’s your other half, BFF, or your first friend ever (aka: brother or sister).   Continue reading

classic cheesecake

I’ve obviously documented my love for cupcakes here, here, and here however I also worship all forms of cheesecake.  I think cheesecake is the perfect dessert to bring to a party or to serve at your next dinner shindig because I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like cheesecake (and those that don’t like cheesecake have never actually tried cheesecake, trust me). The stuff I’ve listed here are things that I actually use and swear by. I’m a bit of a beauty junkie and I love buying makeup, creams, potions, and anything that claims it’s miraculous and will help me look more like Gisele Bündchen!  Continue reading

pasteis de nata

My parents are originally from Portugal so I grew up on pasteis de nata and lucky for me my mom is a master in the kitchen so my pasteis de nata were always homemade. Pasteis de nata have forever been a part of our dessert table and usually a special request from anybody that invited us over to their place because we never arrived empty handed. Continue reading

books, books, books

Books books books photo

I love to read and I’m always looking for something new to read. One of the things I miss about living in my hometown is walking through Chapters bookstore and just wandering through the stacks and browsing all the books. Of course there are plenty of bookstores in Madrid but the majority of the books are in Spanish and it’s just not the same; I can browse the English book section in about 5 minutes.

A frequent question among my friends is “what should I read next?” and I thought I’d share some of favorites. I definitely love the summer beach read and unfortunately I’m not as well read as I’d like to be (I struggle with the classics).
