It was my birthday this week and I always make cupcakes so that I can blow out my birthday candles and make my wish (my wish is the most important part and a birthday tradition I can’t miss out on). Of course our small family of two isn’t going to eat two dozen cupcakes even though we totally could but we’d die of the remorse we’d feel and of the sugar overdose we’d get in the process so I always take cupcakes to work for my colleagues to enjoy. berry cream cheese cupcakes
I love cupcakes and my faves are red velvet but I won’t ever shun a cupcake, no matter what the flavour. I think they’re the perfect dessert cause they’re small, portable, easy to eat and just the right size of deliciousness without the guilt overkill! Continue reading
beauty bliss: summer edition
I’ve hit the beauty jackpot in the last few months because I’ve loved everything I’ve bought and use it all regularly. This is what I can’t live without on my beauty bliss: summer edition: Continue reading
chocolate chip caramel bars
I stumbled upon this recipe on pinterest and it totally caught my attention. I love chocolate chip cookies and caramel is my absolute weakness. I’ll always take caramel over chocolate on my sundae and chocolate covered caramels are my absolute favourite in boxes of chocolate. I knew this recipe was gonna be a win. Continue reading
brown butter hazelnut chocolate chip cookies
I’m on a quest to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe and I’ll be yakking about it here. This isn’t the traditional chocolate chip cookie cause it has brown butter and as far as I’m concerned nothing wrong can come of using brown butter. Continue reading
mango salsa sandwich
This chicken, bacon and mango salsa sandwich screams summer and I’m dying for summer to arrive but spring hasn’t really sprung around here so summer feels like it’s a ways away. Honestly we could just skip spring all together and go straight to summer. I love summer; it’s by far my favourite season of all. I love the heat, the light clothes, long nights, eating alfresco, the beach, and the amazing memories that are made each summer. Continue reading
spring loves
I’ve been MIA for quite some time. I’ve been pretty busy and travelling and just haven’t had a lot of time to post but as I sit here working on this post I remember how much I like doing this. I really hope that I don’t disappear for so long again cause I need this creative outlet and I totally enjoy the blogging process. I was in Ottawa for a couple of weeks and had a FABULOUS time at home just hanging with family and friends. It had been way too long and that won’t be happening again any time soon either.
red velvet cupcakes
I’m one of those weirdoes that actually loves Valentine’s Day! I’ve always loved it; boyfriend or not I loved the day full of hearts and red and pink. I just love love and I’m an incurable romantic so V-Day was made for me. One of my favourite sweet treats are red velvet cupcakes and of course it’s perfect for this special occasion. I’m a bit of a beauty junkie and I love buying makeup, creams, potions, and anything that claims it’s miraculous and will help me look more like Gisele Bündchen! Continue reading
turkey chili
I’m still in complete comfort food mode and this recipe is a result of this mood I’m in. I’m also still trying to keep things healthy after all the indulgence in December. This turkey chili is pretty healthy and you can make it even more so if you eliminate the bacon and just sauté your veggies in olive oil instead. Continue reading
