beauty bliss faves

I think it’s time for a few beauty recommendations that I’ve been loving over the last few months.  I’m hoping to make this beauty bliss faves a regular occurrence here on the blog and I’d love to hear your input as well. The stuff I’ve listed here are things that I actually use and swear by. I’m a bit of a beauty junkie and I love buying makeup, creams, potions, and anything that claims it’s miraculous and will help me look more like Gisele Bündchen!

Beauty Bliss February 2015 4The first and by far the awesomest discovery is M2 LASHES by M2 Beauté. I always had killer eyelashes and then they just started to fall out way too much for my liking last Spring and I started to worry. Me being me, I totally started picturing myself with bald eyelids and I panicked. I started wearing more natural mascara, then I stopped wearing it all together which was torture because mascara is part of my makeup holy grail. Then I tried some kind of natural oil and all that resulted in was oily eyelids and dirty sunglasses. Thankfully I called my friend Rosario who has a pharmacy and she tries every product under the sun and she recommended the M2 Lashes. It’s not cheap but it lasts between 4 and 6 months so if you break the cost down, it isn’t too bad. And guess what??? It works like a charm. My eyelashes are denser and longer which is incredible. I could see results after a month but I’m at month three and the results are seriously noticeable (unfortunately I didn’t take a pic before I started, I know, stupid). Please excuse my nasty iPhone pics and the creepy eyeball montage below but I wanted you to see that this stuff works (also note that I suck at taking selfies). I use both the serum and the gloss and I think it really makes a difference. The serum stung a bit for the first month but that’s gone now and the instructions say this is normal so that’s the only drawback I can think of, but so worth it. If you want killer lashes then this is the stuff for you. I promise you won’t regret it.

Beauty Bliss Feb 2015 Eyelash collageThe next one is amazing as well and totally silly but Avène Thermal Spring Water has been a Godsend for me. I have the most sensitive skin on the planet and breakouts are a too common occurrence for me. Add that I work in one of these highly technological high rises that have no humidity, carpeting, and it’s basically like working on a plane 8 hours a day, five days a week. All of this is a recipe for disastrous skin and my esthetician recommended that I spray on thermal water at least once every hour and guess what? (I know I’m making you guess a lot today) it totally works. I’ve been doing this for a month and a half and the breakouts have seriously decreased and my skin is looking better. It’s far from perfect but improving and this is a pretty inexpensive and easy way to help my skin look better.

Beauty Bliss February 2015 8I was looking for a primer for my eye shadow for New Year’s Eve and I went to the MAC counter to see what they had on hand. They actually don’t have a primer specific for the eye area but she recommended their Prolongwear Paint Pot in Painterly and I love it. It works well to set your eye makeup but I especially love it cause it’s an easy way to add a little brightness to your eyes without any work. I just thrown this on with my YSL Touche Éclat, mascara and some blush (you can find out about my fave blush here) and I’m good to go for the day.

Beauty Bliss Feb 2015 paint potAnd lastly is the Sephora Express nail polish remover. This stuff is freakin’ amazing and gets rid of the toughest nail polish colours like my Chanel Rouge Noir. I like the pot but I also have the normal bottle, which is what I use to touch up when I’m doing my nails. This stuff is fast and gets rid of every last bit of those super dark nail polishes I love.
