fall style inspiration

I’ve been scouring tons of magazines and taking in all the fall/winter trends.  I love doing this because I enjoy knowing what’s coming up for the new season however it can be very dangerous cause it makes me want to go to the stores and shop, shop, shop which translates to spend, spend, spend!  I LOVE what I’m seeing for fall and winter!  The trends are quite wearable and easy to turn into real people clothes, plus we won’t be freezing and comfort reigns thanks to the chunky knits, sporty touches, a little tartan, and the menswear inspired looks.  There are obviously way more trends but these are my favourites.  Here are a few looks that have my particular spin on them.  P.S. I need these in my closet ASAP! (M I hope you’re reading this 😉 )

Menswear: menswear is in which is awesome however you have to remember to add a few feminine touches to make it your own and add that je ne sais quoi.

 j. crew trousers / H&M blouse / MANGO cropped sweater / UTERQÃœE stiletto ankle boots / UTERQÃœE snake skin clutch / TOUS ring

Chunky knits: Can it get any better than a warm, cozy, chunky knit sweater in the middle of winter?  I think not!  The trick here is to off set it with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom like skinny jeans or a cute skirt.  Tucking in the sweater can also be cute but it does have to be a thinner knit or else you’ll be looking extra chunky for no reason and who wants that?  I can’t believe I just said to tuck in a sweater!  This is taking me back to highschool when tucked in Mondetta sweat shirts were all the rage (I can’t believe we thought that was cool).

ASOS Aran sweater / Comptoir des Cotonniers skirt / Zara bag / UTERQÃœE necklace / UTERQÃœE hat / j. crew biker boots

Sporty and tartan: I can just see myself walking in the sea of crimson red, burnt orange, and bright yellow leaves along the river in my hometown on a Sunday fall afternoon in this look.  This is proof that comfort and cool can come together and look amazing.

Fall is for sure my favorite season, especially in Spain where you can wear all this stuff and not hide it under a long winter michelin coat and ugly boots for the slush! I’ve got shopping on my list this month. Beautiful photo outfit combos!

Thanks! I’m so glad you like them. Winter definitely has a different connotation in Spain vs Canada! I can’t wait to hear about what you pick out for fall/winter.
